Marina at Kinbasket Lake since 1980

What began as a few dedicated outdoorsmen has grown into one of the largest, family-oriented membership rosters in the area

Valemount Marina Association

Between May 1 – September 30, the Valemount Marina Association is permitted to occupy and maintain four (4) recreational areas: Horse Creek, Griffin Sawmill and Yellowjacket campgrounds, and the Marina itself, under an agreement with the Province of British Columbia Minsitry of Forests, Recreation Sites and Trails (RSTBC). Our roots are deep in the community of Valemount as our constitution stretches back to 1978. Defined in a revised constitution of 1984, the purposes of the Valemount Marina Association are to:

  1. Promote recreational activities in and around Kinbasket Lake;
  2. Develop facilities and services towards improvement of Kinabsket Lake (parking, access and road improvements, campsites, launch site, etc.);
  3. Promote use of the lake for resident and tourist recreation;
  4. Receive donations of money, land, materials and others towards such purposes;
  5. To cooperate with local industry, government agencies and others to develop and enhance the recreational potential of Kinbasket Lake; and,
  6. Encourage education and information of safe boating.

Volunteers are the backbone of any non-profit organization and the Valemount Marina Association is no different. Day-to-day operations are led by contract recreation site operators. Strategic direction and major decisions are steered by a board of directors. Regular meetings of the Board are scheduled monthly. Annual General Meeting of the Members is held the last Sunday of March each year.
